GenAI Empowered Educators
"GenAI Empowered Educators" is an interactive and distance learning program that aims to empower Primary and Secondary Education teachers to effectively and responsibly use the capabilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in educational processes.
The program is implemented by The Tipping Point in collaboration with Piraeus and the Institute of Educational Policy (IEP), in the framework of the Bank’s Corporate Responsibility program “Equall - For a Society of Equal People” under the New Generation pillar.
About the program
Our approach
The “GenAI Empowered Educators” program adopts an integrated approach that combines theoretical (learning by studying) and practical training (learning by doing).
This approach focuses on:
Familiarizing educators with the basic concepts and capabilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI).
Developing skills to communicate with GenAI tools through a combination of asynchronous and live online training.
Practical application of knowledge through the wiserwork platform, which pairs GenAI capabilities with human experience and knowledge.
What does the training include?
-
Educators watch a series of instructional videos to familiarize themselves with the basic concepts of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and the main tools that can be used during teaching, learning and all processes related to their work.
-
Through modern distance learning, practical examples and group activities educators delve into the effective use of GenAI tools, and are trained in creating complex prompts related to the workflows of their own specialty.
-
Using the wiserwork platform, educators harness the potential of GenAI, developing workflows tailored to every need in the educational process, collaborate when additional knowledge or experience is needed and create lesson plans for activities they will implement in the classroom with their students.
The impact
The “GenAI Empowered Educators” program aims to build a strong community of educators, strengthening their role and equipping them with modern tools and skills to use GenAI responsibly.
Through training up to 700 educators from every corner of Greece, the program aims to familiarize them with the proper use of GenAI in the educational process, while enabling them to adapt their teaching to the demands of the 21st century. It equips them to effectively adapt to the ongoing transformations brought about by technological advancements, leverage new opportunities to advance their educational role while navigating potential challenges, and guide their students in developing a healthy relationship between humans and GenAI tools, preparing them in real-world terms for the demands of the modern era.
The program’s ultimate goal is to contribute to the digital upgrading of local communities, leaving a positive footprint on future generations. Educators, as knowledge multipliers, become agents of innovation within their school communities, promoting the overall enhancement of the educational experience and highlighting education as a driving force for social and cultural progress.

Frequently asked questions
-
"GenAI Empowered Educators" is an interactive program that aims to empower Primary and Secondary Education teachers across Greece to be able to effectively and responsibly use the capabilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) in their teaching.
-
Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) refers to a specific category of AI that is capable of generating new content or data that has not previously existed. This is often done using genetic algorithms, neural networks and other machine learning methods.
-
The applications of GenAI are many and varied. It can be used to create written content, images, music, but also to enhance virtual reality and adapt content to the users’ needs.
-
The program is addressed to currently active Primary and Secondary Education teachers throughout Greece.
-
The application period for the program closed well ahead of the specified dates, as the available places were filled.
Participants will be selected based on the chronological order of application submission, and updates to the selected educators will follow shortly.
-
The program is free of charge for Primary and Secondary Education teachers.
-
Participating educators will gain in-depth knowledge of how to integrate GenAI into their teaching. This will enable them to design more effective lessons, offer personalized instruction, and strengthen their students’ critical thinking and creativity skills.
-
Yes, a certification will be awarded, indicating the total training hours.
-
In order to be awarded with the certification, the completion of all 3 stages of the program is required: the asynchronous and live online training, as well as the hands-on training.
-
The program covers topics related to familiarizing educators with the basic concepts of GenAI, highlighting its potential and limitations. Participants will cultivate the skills necessary to communicate effectively and creatively with GenAI tools, and will have the opportunity to practice hands-on with state-of-the-art tools, gaining experience in applying them to educational scenarios.
-
The program will be implemented through distance learning. Participants will have access to an online training platform, where they will attend asynchronous training, including instructional videos, assessments, practical training and additional material, followed by a live online training and then hands-on training on the wiserwork platform.
-
Yes, the first asynchronous part is compulsory, as it contains fundamental information necessary to participate in the following part successfully. Without completing it, you will not be allowed to participate in the live online training.
-
You will be able to choose from a range of dates and times for the live online trainings, tailored to your subject area and the level you teach.
-
Wiserwork is a platform that combines different tools and technologies to help us enhance our daily workflows, and capture the intangible knowledge we all have.
